"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." (1 Timothy 4:1-2) |

| "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. ... And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." (Revelation 17:4-6, 9) |

Ex-Jesuit, Alberto Rivera, Saved, From Chick Publications
Was Alberto Rivera who he said he was? As soon as Alberto Rivera went public with his testimony, the Roman Catholic Church began its damage-control operation. Alberto knew too much! Having been prepared for leadership in the Jesuit order, he had been briefed on things too sensitive to put in writing. Now he was telling the world! Alberto was immediately denounced as having never been a priest, even though he possessed clear documentation. Christianity Today printed an article written by Gary Metz, attacking Alberto and accusing him of all sorts of things. Alberto refused to spend his life arguing with his accusers. Instead, he just pushed on, preaching the gospel, and trusting God to defend him. The Lord raised up other Christians who examined the charges against Alberto, and found him to be exactly what he claimed to be. Below is an abundance of evidence. Read it for yourself. Read Alberto Rivera's story. |
| "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:19-20) |

David Icke's New Age Spiritism, From Wikipedia, February 6, 2008
In his online autobiography, David Icke, a well known NWO advocate, writes that, in March 1990, while he was a national spokesperson for the Green Party, he received a message from the spirit world through a medium, ... identified by The Guardian as Betty Shine, a medium from Brighton. She told him he was a healer who had been chosen for his courage and sent to heal the earth ... On March 27, 1991, Icke held a press conference to announce: "I am a channel for the Christ spirit. The title was given to me very recently by the Godhead." In an interview on the Terry Wogan show that year, he announced that he was "the son of God" .... Icke later said that he had been misinterpreted by the media. According to Icke, he used the term "the son of God" "... in the sense of being an aspect, as I understood it at the time, of the Infinite consciousness that is everything. As I have written before, we are like droplets of water in an ocean of infinite consciousness." |
| "And it came to pass ... that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. ... There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." (Genesis 6:1-2, 4; See Note) |

Stem Cell Wars, By Wesley J. Smith, ToTheSource, January 15, 2008
University of Wisconsin's James Thomson is a remarkable scientist. In 1998 he sparked the "great stem cell war" by deriving the first stem cell lines from human embryos. Ironically, last November, as that political and cultural conflagration blazed, Thomson—along with Japanese scientist Shinya Yamanaka—poured water on the flames by turning ordinary skin cells into embryonic-like stem cells (induced pluripotent stem cells, or iPSCs) that may have the same properties scientists believe are best to treat the most serious of human afflictions. To understand why this breakthrough is so culturally, as well as scientifically important, we need to recount the political turmoil caused by Thomson's original embryonic stem cell breakthrough. Embryonic stem cell research (ESCR) is intensely controversial because embryos must be destroyed in order to derive the cells This is morally wrong, opponents argue, because it destroys human life and reduces the moral status of embryos to that of a mere natural resource. | But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (2 Pet. 2:1-3 ) |

Word-Faith Movement, By Gary E. Gilley, August 2000
The Word-Faith Movement, also known as the Positive Confession or simply "Faith" movement. Its growth is at least partially due to the massive amounts of money the leaders are able to extract from the faithful. This influx of cash allows for huge buildings and extensive ministries, and more importantly, wide exposure on television, which translates into numerical growth. Not only do many Word-Faith preachers broadcast their services and campaigns, but Word-Faith adherents, Paul and Jan Crouch, own the largest Christian-based television network in the world. The Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), founded by the Crouches, with an estimated net worth of approximately $600 million dollars, is capable of televising the Faith message (as well as many other errant messages) all over the world. Well-known personalities within the movement include Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Robert Tilton (who is staging a come-back), Paul Yonggi Cho, Benny Hinn, Marilyn Hickey, Frederick K.C. Price, John Avanzini, Charles Capps, Jerry Savelle, Morris Cerullo and of course, Paul and Jan Crouch. Beliefs: Faith Is a Force: ... Through faith, we can obtain anything we want -- health, wealth, success, whatever. However, this force is only released through the spoken word. ... Deification of Man: Faith teachers like to teach, based upon serious mishandling of passages such as John 10:31-39 and II Peter 1:4, that Christians are "little gods." ... Humanization of God: ... God is humiliated in the Faith system. Copeland claims that God is a being who stands about 6'2"-6'3", weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of hundred pounds, and has a hand span of 9" across .... Copeland also declares "Adam was the copy, looked just like (God). ... Distortion of the Cross: Four atonement-related errors on the part of the Faith teachers can be documented: 1) Christ was re-created on the cross from divine to demonic. To put it in Faith vernacular, Jesus took on the very nature of Satan himself. 2) Your redemption was not secured on the cross, but in hell. In fact, many Faith teachers claim that Christ's torture by all the demons of hell was a "ransom" God paid to Satan so that He could get back into a universe from which He had been banished. 3) Jesus was reborn (or born again) in the very pit of hell. 4) Christ was reincarnated through His rebirth in hell and that those who (like Christ) are born again can become "incarnated" as well. Thus, Faith teachers take Christ, the spotless Lamb, and pervert Him into an unholy sacrifice on the cross. |

YOGA: AN OVERVIEW, by Watchman Fellowship, 2001
What is yoga? It's a practice by the means of which a spiritual seeker strives 1) to control prakriti (nature) to make the jiva (the soul) fit for union with purusha (the Oversoul), and 2) to attain nirvikalpa samadhi (union with God) and thus jivanmukta (the liberation of the soul from the rounds of birth and death). ... [Compare] the beliefs of yoga and Christianity on the following critical subjects: God: For yogis, God in the end is impersonal, a "one without a second" beyond all dualities (e.g., love-hate, good-evil); for Christians, God is triune and personal, the Father, who possesses perfect attributes: love, holiness, righteousness, etc. Although both claim that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, they use these terms in different senses. Humanity: For yogis, humanity is locked in prakriti, imprisoned in a body that must be mastered and transcended by self-exertion; for Christians, humanity, who possesses a body and soul that are bound and condemned by sin, can only be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, never by works (or laws). Nature: For yogis, the inexorable law of karma (impersonal cause and effect) orders every detail in life, with no room for grace, everything being earned; for Christians, the justice and mercy of God determine everything in a nature that is now fallen but at any moment will be redeemed. The Way: For yogis, many paths lead to God, and only those who perceive such unity in diversity truly attain to God; for Christians, there is only one way, not because they say so but because Christ says so: "I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me" (Jn. 14:6). The Goal: For yogis, it's identification with or absorption in God, the One ("I am Brahman"); for Christians, it's eternal life-as joint heirs with the resurrected Christ, the Son of God-in heaven. If not, then why do so many think it is? |
