There are several passages of Scripture on the marquee above that give us a good idea of where to start in combating the attacks on truth, righteousness and justice. They have much to do with depending upon the Lord. But before we look at what we can do let's go to the root of the problem and make sure we are capable of spiritual battle by looking at three areas of our lives. If one can get a handle on these three things then everything will become clearer in his mind and make waging spiritual warfare easier.
1. "Above all, taking the shield of faith, ... and take the helmet of salvation ..." (Ephesians 6:16-17, cf. 2:8-9; Romans 6:23, 10:9-10). 2. Pray daily (Proverbs 15:8, 28:9; Luke 18:9-14; Psalms 6:9, 42:8, 55:17, 69:13, 143:1; Habakkuk 1:1-2; Philippians 4:6; James 5:16). 3. Daily believing Bible study (Psalm 1:1-3; Acts 17:11; Proverbs 3:5-7, 15:28; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:14-17). 1. Husbands and wives must allow God to be the leader of the family (Ephesians 5:21; Eclesiasties 4:9-12; 1 Corinthians 11:3) . 2. Husbands must love and honor their wives as their own selves (Ephesians 5:25; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7) 3. Wives are to submit to the authority of their husbands (1 Peter 3:1-4; Ephesians 5:22-24; Colossians 3:18; Genesis 3:16). 4. Spouses must be satisfied only one with the other, and not defraud one another sexually (1 Corinthians 7:3-5; Proverbs 5:18-22). 5. Both parents must train up their children according to the Bible (Proverbs 22:6, 23:13-14; Ephesians 6:4; Hebrews 12:7-10). 1. First and foremost, get involved in a soul winning local New Testament church (Hebrews 10:22-25). 2. Have a godly personal testimony and life (Romans 12:9-18, 13:1-6). 3. Without compromising Biblical standards get involved in the political process (Romans 13:1-6; Acts 4:18-20, 5:27-29). 4. Get involved in organizations with Biblical agendas (Ephesians 5:11, 6:11-14; Acts 4:18-20, 5:27-29). God has established three institutions: 1) The Family (Genesis 2:21-25; Malachi 2:15), 2) Human Government (Genesis 9:6) and 3) The Church (Matthew 16:15-18). All three are foundational for society, but the last two are founded upon the first, therefore the family is the most important.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says that we who are called Christians are to humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways. Certainly not all who are called Christians are truly saved. That was also the problem with Old Testament Israel, they needed to be born again of the Spirit of God. To do this we must repent or as it says, "turn from [our] wicked ways." The Lord Jesus said, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3, 5). We must also receive the Word of God which testifies of Christ's death and resurrection to save us. "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity [excess] of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:21) Once we get this taken care of then we can begin to get things done. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:8-10; cf. Romans 6:23; Titus 3:5) When we make peace with God and submit ourselves to the authority of His Word in our lives, then we will be able to lead and serve our families and make an impact in the world for the cause of Christ. However, there will still be trials and tribulations, but we will be able to serve and witness for Christ in spite of them. We know that we are on the winning side because the Lord Jesus Christ said: "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness .... Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. ... These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 15:26-27, 16:13-14, 33) So the first thing that we need to do is make sure we are saved and be certain of it. We need to be able to say along with the Apostle Paul that "... I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" (2 Timothy 1:12). With that having been said, we should realize that the things prophesied for the last days are not pretty. God knows the hearts of men and has prophesied in the Bible that most people will not receive Christ and will therefore go into destruction. The Lord said: "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)
The Bible forewarns us that in the last days most people "shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" (2 Timothy 3:2-5), that even "Christians" will be "giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1), and that "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13). The Bible predicts therefore there surely will be an anti-Christ New World Order with an Antichrist world dictator at it's head. These will be so not because God foreordained it to be so, but because mankind is desperately wicked, and God knew to what depravity they would sink. The world is being given what it wants and because of that God is soon going to pour out his wrath upon the earth. Therefore, we need not think that we will effect change for the better on a massive scale, but we can stand till the end as an example to the Tribulation saints who will receive Christ after the Rapture of all believers of this Age to Heaven. We therefore know and understand that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed ... " (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8). We know it to be true "that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Timothy 4:1). In order to depart from the faith one must have once been in the faith. This means saved people will be deceived by devils and marginalized. Saved people will furthermore be complacence, overly interested their mundane pursuits (tv, video games, sports, wickedness and having a good time) similar to the way it was in the days of Noah, therefore it will no longer be possible to effect 2 Chronicles 7:14 (see below). The Lord said: "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Matthew 24:37-42; cf. Genesis 6:5-8) America is the last stronghold of Christianity, and our faith has already been marginalized by the atheists, new agers and one worlders. Christian persecution is no longer confined to Islamic, Hindu, and Communist countries. It has now begun in America. The Christian and American principles of life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, the freedoms of conscience and speech (soul liberty), and national sovereignty are quickly being replaced with abortion, special rights for sodomites, implantable bio-chips, cloning, and one world government. So what can we do to serve the Lord, our brethren and lost humankind while we watch and wait for the Lord Jesus to return for us?

"But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth." (Revelation 2:14-16) "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14) "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." (1 Peter 5:6-9) "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." (Ephesians 6:11-18) "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)." (2 Corinthians 10:3-4) "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure." (Psalm 2:1-5) "Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us. For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread." (Isaiah 8:9-13) "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ... And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming." (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, 6-8) "Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain." (Isaiah 26:20-21) "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." (Revelation 19:11-16) "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" (Daniel 4:35) Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left." (Isaiah 24:1-6) "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." (2 Peter 3:13-14) "And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Micah 4:3)
